The CONSTRUCTION WORLD Architect and Builder (CWAB) Awards, Awards, instituted in 2006, are India's most coveted awards for the architecture and building industry. The awards recognise the people and organisations responsible for the changing landscape of the country - the Top Architects and the Top Builders of India's and felicitate them. The growth of the event over the past 16 years is in tandem with the industry's growth in India and has gained in stature and importance with each passing year.
The CWAB Awards, for the past decade and a half, have featured the best speakers from across the globe who have spoken on various themes like INNOVISION, YOUTH, GREEN, STAR, FUSION, etc. The event in its 10th year celebrated the DECADE OF EXCELLENCE, where we felicitated all our past winners – over 50 of them; it was perhaps the largest gathering of Architects and Builders across the country on one platform.
We’re turning 17 this year! Proud to have our legacy of awarding India’s Top Architects and Builders continue. The 17th CWAB Awards 2022 will award the best and brightest minds not just across the ,Top Architect & Top Builder categories, but also across Noteworthy Projects which was introduced in 2016 to commemorate our new decade of CWAB. Besides, the Builders and Architects in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities will also be recognised through the Regional Awards.
Entries for the National Awards, Regional Awards and Noteworthy Projects categories are solicited through a general call for entries against a minimum threshold for years in the business, range and quality of work among several other factors. Juries across the categories makes the final selections.
The CWAB Awards 2020 & 2021 were held virtually through an online platform and witnessed great success with all the winners sharing videos of their winning speech prior to the event. It indeed looked like a real show!
Firms that are more than 5-years-old with a pan-India presence, and have completed projects to its portfolio, are recognised and awarded under this category.
Entries across categories are solicited through a general call for entries against a minimum threshold for years in the business, range and quality of work among several other factors. Our editors lead the nomination process and take responsibility for the due diligence. Extensive research and fact check is done on each nomination received; and based on accurate and complete data, a dossier is sent out to jury members for deliberations before the jury meet.
The nominees in each category will be presented to the jury for determination of winners. The jury will score each nominee based on pre-defined evaluation parameters.
The winners are then decided by a jury of distinguished, independent panel of industry practitioners who cast their vote on the shortlisted companies/individuals.
The Jury’s decision will be final and binding on all Participants.
India’s TOP BUILDERS AND TOP ARCHITECTS are determined by the highest percentage from the accumulated scores of the jury.
In a similar process as mentioned for India’s Top Architects & Top Builders, entries across categories are solicited through a general call for entries and winners in this category too are determined by the highest percentage from the accumulated scores of the jury. With the introduction of this category, in 2018, CWAB added a new dimension to recognise regional players. The Regional Awards, which represent the four regions of the country – East, West, North, South – look to recognise and felicitate local players who are striving for excellence. A single Regional winner is selected from each category – Architect, Builder and Interior Designer – across the four regions.
The category of “Noteworthy Projects” was introduced in 2016.
'NOTEWORTHY' includes projects that are either (but not limited to) one or more of the following: Sustainable, energy-efficient, water-efficient, green, most affordable, has achieved (certain) milestones, state-of-the-art amenities, aesthetic benchmarks, used innovative materials, etc. Based on the theme for the year, there could be specific add-ons and higher scoring areas for the project to win. That said, this year’s theme being FuSion, the submitted project should be planned, designed and built to be 'Future-ready' with the apt use of 'innovative materials, techniques, approach and amenities', and with the 'Vision' to 'sustain, enhance efficiency, improve performance and save costs'.
The following steps comprise of our selection methodology.
